Earthworm Diversity and Their Influences on Soil Enzyme Activities in Organic, Sustainable and Conventional Farming Systems of Puducherry

An experiment was conducted to study the earthworm diversity and its influence on soil enzyme activities in organic, sustainable conventional farming systems state of Puducherry. A total five species namely Drawida willsi, scandens, Lampito mauritii, Perionyx excavates Eudrilus eugeniae were present sites. Four found organic farming. Earthworm diversity, population, dominance, biomass significantly higher compared systems. In addition, soils from showed activity urease, alkaline phosphatase, β-glucosidase, cellulase, invertase xylanase they had a significant positive correlation with population biomass. Our results revealed that presence earthworms strongly affected soil. casts probably contributed enrichment plant-available nutrients organically managed soils.
